Everything you need to know about Luma

Luma is a medication management tool that helps you stay on top of complex medication schedules. It combines smart reminders, prescription scanning, consistency tracking, and a care circle so your family can have peace of mind too. Luma is available as a web app, iOS app, and will soon include a physical bedside device.

Luma's core features are free forever — up to 3 medications, email and push notifications, one carer connection (view-only), and unlimited prescription scanning. Luma+ (£4.99/month or £39.99/year) adds unlimited medications, SMS reminders, unlimited carers with remote management, watch complications, Live Activities, and full consistency history with export.

Yes. We take your privacy seriously — especially given the sensitive nature of medication data. Your data is encrypted in transit and at rest, passwords are hashed with bcrypt, and we never sell your data to third parties. We use essential cookies only and no tracking analytics. Read our full Privacy Policy for details.

You can invite a family member or carer to your care circle by sharing a link or entering their email. They'll be able to see your medication schedule and receive alerts if you miss a dose. You control exactly what they can see and do — and you can revoke access at any time. It's designed to feel like reassurance, not surveillance.

Yes! Take a photo of your prescription label and Luma will automatically extract the medication name, dosage, and schedule. You'll get a chance to review and confirm everything before it's added. Prescription scanning is unlimited on all plans.

We don't judge — life happens. If a dose goes unrecorded, Luma will gently nudge you with a "time to catch up" notification. You can take it or skip it. If you have a carer connected, they'll also be notified so they can check in. Your consistency score tracks trends, not perfection.

Go to Settings, then the Account tab, and scroll down to "Danger Zone". You'll need to enter your password to confirm. Deleting your account permanently removes all your data — medications, dose history, devices, and care relationships. This cannot be undone. You can also export your data first.

No. Luma is a reminder and tracking tool, not a medical device. It does not provide medical advice, diagnosis, or treatment. Always follow your doctor's or pharmacist's instructions regarding your medications. If you have questions about your prescriptions, speak to a healthcare professional — not an app.

Not yet, but it's on our roadmap. In the meantime, Android users can install Luma as a Progressive Web App (PWA) — open getluma.health in Chrome and tap "Add to Home Screen". You'll get push notifications, offline support, and an app-like experience.

The Luma device is a small, beautifully designed bedside companion that glows gently when it's time for your medication. It connects to your Luma account via Wi-Fi and syncs your schedule automatically. No screens, no complicated setup — just a calm, ambient reminder. It's currently in development and will be available soon. Sign up for updates at getluma.health.
